Setting the Standard for Green Parts Since Day One

With quality assurance currently a hot topic, Phil DeGroot, Director of The Green Parts Specialists, explains how setting the standard has always been their focus from the beginning.

Quality has always been at the heart of what wdo

When you're choosing green parts, you want to know you're getting more than just a sustainable solution – you want complete confidence in the quality of every part you buy.

At The Green Parts Specialists, that's exactly what we've always believed.

Long before quality assurance became a major talking point across the industry, we were already putting robust processes in place to ensure that our OEM green parts met the very highest quality standards for our customers.

It's a commitment we've always upheld. It's why we have an industry leading low returns rate and that’s something we are very proud of.

70+ years of experience you can trust

We've been supporting the automotive circular economy for more than 70 years, helping repairers, insurers, bodyshops, and motorists make sustainable choices without compromising on quality.

Today, we're backed by Copart, a global leader in vehicle remarketing and recycling.

That means our customers benefit from the reassurance of working with a trusted national supplier, combining decades of expertise with the scale, investment and infrastructure to deliver quality-assured provenanced OEM green parts across the UK.

While we've grown over the years, one thing has never changed: our focus on doing the job properly.

Quality has never been an afterthought

There's been a real shift in recent years towards raising standards across the green parts industry – and that's something we wholeheartedly welcome.

But for us, these standards aren't new.

The thorough inspection and quality assurance processes that customers now expect have been part of the way we work from the very beginning. We've always understood that quality matters just as much as sustainability.

Every OEM green part is thoroughly inspected and tested before it's made available for sale, and most of our parts come with a 365-day warranty for added peace of mind.

Take body panels, for example. Every panel is carefully checked to make sure it's free from corrosion before all components and fittings are fully removed and inspected. Our Grade A panels require no more than one hour of repair, giving repairers confidence that they're receiving parts that are ready to help keep repairs moving efficiently.

These aren't new procedures we've introduced to meet industry expectations – they've been our standard way of working since day one.

Leading the way

As part of our long-standing commitment to qualitywe became one of the first vehicle recyclers to sign up to the Vehicle Recyclers' Association (VRA) Certification Scheme – and the very first business to achieve certification back in August 2020.

The introduction of the VRA Certification Scheme was an important milestone – bringing greater transparency, consistency and confidence to the supply of green parts.

For us, becoming certified wasn't about changing the way we worked. It was about demonstrating that the standards we'd always worked to meet the highest industry expectations.

It also reflected our commitment to doing things the right way – following industry best practice, operating responsibly, and supporting the bodyshops and insurers who rely on dependable supply partners every day.

Giving our customers confidence

VRA certification gives customers confidence that our parts meet consistently high standards for quality and traceability, while supporting repairs that comply with BS 10125.

In practical terms, that means easier procurement, greater confidence in every part ordered, fewer unexpected issues during repairs and, ultimately, fewer returns.

It's one of the reasons our return rates remain among the best in the industry.

When parts are carefully inspected, accurately graded and honestly described before they leave us, customers receive exactly what they're expecting. That saves valuable time, reduces delays and helps repairers keep vehicles moving through the workshop.

Quality and sustainability ghand in hand

Choosing green parts is one of the simplest ways to reduce the environmental impact of vehicle repairs, but sustainability should never come at the expense of quality.

We believe customers should have both.

That's why every part we supply combines the environmental benefits of reuse with the reassurance of rigorous quality checks, expert preparation, and decades of experience.

It's also why so many insurers, repairersand bodyshops continue to choose The Green Parts Specialists as their trusted supplier.

After more than 70 years, we're still driven by the same principles we started with: do things properly, never compromise on quality, and always put our customers first.

Because while the industry has changed, our standards never have.
